This question comes to my mind every time during holi season when I see colorful stray animals, be it a dog ,cow, bull, donkeys even monkeys. But how they play has anyone ever given a thought about it.
The answer is very simple they don't play holi ,but in our fun and ignorance we throw on them sometimes dry colours, abir or gulal and even we sometimes throw water balloons on them just for fun.
During this Corona times when we are maintaining social distancing. So why not with animals, please it's a request to leave them out of it. Not even from your balcony or when you are passing by them. My concern here is about the aftermath,that they suffer.
They are already stray, fighting with each other for just for a piece of food. They already have so many wounds on their skin. Some suffer from many such disease which we just come to know if we go close to them.
We for our fun put colors on them and they are the creation of nature which coexist with us but can't speak.
Did any stray animal ever came to you to say my skin got allergy because someone played holi with me?
It's food for thought , so instead of wishing happy holy to each and everyone I preferred to say let's play holi with humans and let's celebrate this festival of colours. But not doing any #atrocitiesonanimals
Please don't paint a dog or cow red just in the name of holi. They will never be able to tell their pain.
Happy holi , safe holi, play amongst ourselves and not with animals be it a pet though.
